The member-funded SECU Foundation provided funds for up to 30 local students to receive SECU Bridge to Career scholarships valued at $500 to study at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

The SECU Foundation introduced the SECU Bridge to Career program in 2018 to support students seeking to earn sustainable-paying careers in their local communities through North Carolina Workforce Development programs. The university-managed initiative focuses on helping individuals find vocational and job opportunities through qualified training programs that lead to state-regulated or industry-recognized certifications. The scholarship will be used for educational expenses and other expenses.

“This scholarship program is designed for those looking to work in high-demand industries or to enhance their education by acquiring new skills to advance their careers,” said Jama Campbell, SECU Foundation Executive Director. has become an integral part of our support.” “This is a great collaborative effort with our state’s educators to build a better future for our scholarship recipients, their families, and our communities. On behalf of the SECU Foundation and SECU members, I would like to thank these Congratulations to the winners.”

Together, the SECU Bridge to Career and People Helping People Community College Scholarship Program efforts bring the SECU Foundation’s funding to the North Carolina Community College System to more than $1.6 million annually.
