BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football has an ACC matchup on the road against Syracuse on Saturday, November 2nd. Riding on the momentum of a three-game winning streak, the Hokies will have an important battle against the Orange to move up the conference rankings. Head coach Brent Pry acknowledged the challenges of playing a home game against Georgia Tech and playing in the Dome at the beginning of his weekly press conference. Student-athletes Jaylin Lane and Aeneas Peebles also followed Pry on the podium, highlighting the opportunities available for production on the offensive and defensive units. Read below to see what else they said.

Head Coach Brent Pry

About the red zone defense so far this season:
“Well, first of all, I think it’s the mindset that coach Chris Marvais and they created with our unit. Unfortunately, I was around the defense, but unfortunately , there were times when we stumbled in those situations. But our group really falls flat. “Someone can drive down the field and we need to force field goals and takeaways. And we’re lucky so far. ”

About Wilfried Pene’s development and recent productions:
“I’d say I’m a little surprised. He’s always been very determined. He’s had a lot of things holding him back. But he’s had a few steady weeks during camp this fall. “He’s really smart and can maximize his potential. he has great athletic ability. ”
