1:06 p.m. PT — Halton Regional Police tell TMZ Sports they investigated an altercation at Pure Muscle Fitness on Sunday and charged Van Wyk with two counts of assault.
Bodybuilding star Jeff Nippard was assaulted by another fitness instructor this week while recording a training session at a gym in Canada…and the assault was caught on video.
Nippard, known for his scientific approach to bodybuilding, has remained silent about the incident after a video surfaced showing him violently pushed to the ground by Mike Van Wyk at Ontario’s Pure Muscle and Fitness gym. broke.
“Mike Van Wyk stabbed me in the throat twice in the middle of the gym and then shoved the cameraman,” Nippard said on social media on Monday.
“There’s already a lie going around that Mike told me to stay away, but I didn’t listen and approached him first. This is false.”
Mr Nippard went on to explain…that Mr Van Wyk appeared to have had issues filming JN for the popular YouTube channel.
“Then he came back to me and said, ‘Stop the camera,’ and he immediately shoved me in the throat, causing me to fall to the floor,” Nippard said.
“I got up and he told me never to talk about him again. Then he shoved me in the throat a second time.”
Jeff also said Van Wyk assaulted the cameraman before leaving.

Mr Knippard said he did not know why Mr Van Wyk reacted the way he did, but said he did not know why Mr van Wyk reacted the way he did, but that he had responded to MVW’s labeling of science-based fitness influencers as “mediocre”. I suspect that it originates from a video made by.
“In my opinion, it’s a result of the outrage caused by the clip I posted yesterday in response to his question about science-based training. It’s pretty wild,” Nippard said.
The 34-year-old said he went to the hospital for a CT scan after the attack before telling his more than 2 million IG followers that he was fine.
Fellow bodybuilders have rallied to Nipperd’s defense, including Quinton Elijah, who said he will no longer train with Van Wyck because he won’t deal with bullies.
Fitness star and nutrition coach Joel Tunem also insisted the incident was not staged.
