Edmonds School District Student Health Services Director Mara Marano Bianco has been named School Nurse Administrator of the Year by the Washington School Nursing Association.
At its recent annual conference in Wenatchee, the organization recognized Marano Bianco for her pivotal work establishing and implementing school-based health centers at Meadowdale High School and Mountlake Terrace High School. did.
Through collaboration with the Snohomish County Community Health Center and the Green Health Board, we also helped ensure that students in the district had access to essential health services.
While this prestigious award is an individual honor, she was quick to recognize and praise the accomplishments of the district’s school nurses and health services staff.
“This award recognizes the excellence in our school nursing practice, the quality of care that our school nurses provide to our students every day, the level of professional development and continuing education that our nursing staff engages in, and our overall commitment to school health. “This is a testament to the leadership of our school community and region,” Marano-Bianco said.
School nurses across the state are drawing inspiration from Marano-Bianco’s hard work, creativity and vision as they make this initiative a reality, the district said in a statement. Her efforts to give school nursing a strong voice within the district are also gaining attention. She helped ensure Edmonds School District nurses had the most up-to-date information and opportunities to collaborate effectively by prioritizing professional development, the district said.
