COLORADO SPRINGS — Students visited Allegion Corp. Thursday to learn about careers as part of National Manufacturing Day.
In addition to seeing the items being assembled, they had the opportunity to learn about the science and technology behind manufacturing and the needs that make the industry function.
Rick Medina, operations manager for Colorado Springs Allegion, said Thursday was a great opportunity for young people to learn about the industry, which has many career paths.
“We have to get the next guys ready to go, yeah, the next guys behind us, yeah, this is a great opportunity, and it’s a very vast undertaking, a huge company. So there’s a lot of things you can do, a lot of places you can go,”’ Medina said.
Allegion also offers tours for the public who want to see what’s going on in their manufacturing facilities.
