Sunday with Mr. Motivator: “I recently started taking photos of churches” | Fitness

Are you growing on Sunday? I was born in Jamaica. My family is very religious, so we had to wear our Sunday best every Sunday. The church is the cornerstone of who I am. It teaches us the importance of believing. It set a standard that I have maintained throughout my life.

Is it Sunday now? The biggest change is when you start taking responsibility for your family and dividing your energy. My message to you is this. You are the most important person. Remember to take care of yourself. But try telling that to a mother with children. Men have it easier, but there are still men who neglect their mental health. My mission is to spread the word so everyone can take care of themselves.

What’s for lunch? I’ve been married for 28 years, and I’ve been a chef since the day I got married. I’ll make pasta. Cook salmon. I don’t eat meat, but my daughter loves pork, so I make it for her. And we always go out with a big pot of soup.

Do you do any exercise? I wake up around 5:30 in the morning and train. It’s a habit I can’t break out of. We’re going live on TikTok and Instagram and inviting people to participate. We make public appearances most weekends during festival season.

Do you like meeting people? £1 for everyone who says ‘I saw you on TV, you were part of my upbringing, you made me understand the importance of mental health…’ If you have, that’s great. That’s what kept me there for 30 years.

What else are you doing? I recently started taking photos of churches. It’s very interesting because some villages have three or four churches and all the people throughout the history of the town are buried there. Some of the tombstones are fascinating. That’s my little reward at the end of the week.
