Approximately 2,000 people from 40 schools in the state of Yucatan took part in an activity of the Center for Scientific Research in Yucatan (CICY) called “Open House.” This is a scheme designed to bring school-age children and young people closer to evolving scientific research. The center offers accessible language to support recreational activities.
Officially opening the event, CICY Director Mayra Rubi Segura Campos said that the intention of organizing this type of event is that scientific research has a direct impact on the daily life of everyone. recalled that it was about creating communication links between people. the general public and the state’s scientific community.
The open house is a symbolic event of this research center for science dissemination, and this time 83 activities were carried out aimed at children and youth from elementary school to high school, said Julio Dominguez Horta, Director of Social Communication at CICY. he explained.
He explained that over 40 schools participated, not only from within the state, but also from guest states such as Coahuila and Puebla.
This is the 15th open house held to commemorate CICY’s 45th anniversary.
