Donald Trump on Friday brushed off further questions about whether he would release Kamala Harris’ current medical records, even as they cast doubt on her fitness to serve as president, refusing to provide updates on her health. strengthened his stance of refusing.
Asked if he would release his health records, the 78-year-old Republican candidate suggested he already shared enough information about his health.
“Yes, my health record. I’ve been tested five times in the last four years. I have everything,” Trump told reporters on the airport tarmac after arriving in Detroit, Michigan, on Friday afternoon. spoke.
President Trump then appeared to suggest that he was too busy campaigning against Democratic candidate Vice President Harris to take time to update his record.
“Obviously, I’m in the middle of a very large and very controversial battle,” he said. “We are leading the way. We also underwent a medical checkup.”
President Trump added, “I took a cognitive function test twice and I passed it. That’s a perfect score.”
“I want to see her take a cognitive function test because she couldn’t ace it because she wasn’t naturally smart,” he said before walking away from the press corps.
The Trump campaign did not respond to CNBC’s request for additional comment on Trump’s remarks in Michigan.
Trump told CBS News in August that he would be “willing” to release his medical records, but his campaign has not done so.
Harris, who turns 60 on Sunday, released a detailed health report from the White House physician on Oct. 12. That same day, Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Chan claimed in a statement that the Republican candidate had “voluntarily released” multiple health reports.
Chan pointed to a three-paragraph letter shared last November from Dr. Bruce Aronwald relating to President Trump’s testing conducted more than a year ago.
Chan also referred to two memos written in July by Republican Rep. Ronnie Jackson of Texas, who previously served as President Trump’s White House physician. The memos focused on the injuries Trump sustained during an assassination attempt at a July 13 campaign rally that nearly killed him.
Meanwhile, Ms. Harris has recently stepped up her attacks on Mr. Trump, who would become the oldest president in U.S. history if he wins the Nov. 5 election, focusing on his health.
At a rally in North Carolina on Sunday, she focused on President Trump’s refusal to release a comprehensive health report and his decision not to agree to a second debate.
“What makes me wonder is why his people want him to hide behind him. You have to question, you have to question, he’s too weak to lead America. Are they afraid of being seen as unstable? That’s what’s going on,” Harris said.

On Friday, she caught a Politico report in which an adviser to President Trump said on a podcast that the former president declined to be interviewed on the show because he was “exhausted.”
President Trump also canceled several other interviews, including one with CNBC in the final weeks before Election Day.
“If he can’t handle the rigors of campaigning, is he fit for the job? I think that’s a fair question,” Harris said at an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Harris has also questioned Trump’s mental health. In a widely viewed Fox News interview Wednesday evening, Harris called Trump “unfit for service,” “unstable” and “dangerous.”
She also mocked President Trump’s bizarre town hall event near Philadelphia on Monday night.
After two medical emergencies interrupted a scheduled question and answer session, President Trump chose to simply listen to music while standing on stage in front of the crowd. During the interlude, which lasted 39 minutes, Trump swayed to the music and said little.
Harris’ account regarding X was met with a cold response: “I hope he’s okay.”
