President Trump today repeated his claim, without providing evidence, that Democrats and the Biden administration are blocking aid to victims of recent hurricanes.

In a post on Truth Social, the former president said, “Democrats in Washington and the North Carolina Democratic Governor’s Office (Roy Cooper) are committed to preventing people and money from flowing into North Carolina to help those in desperate need. “I was blocking it,” he said.

“Biden knew it, and Kamala knew it! Things are spreading everywhere — it’s a scary situation. When I take office on January 20th, I’m going to make it up to everyone. Wait. Please, I’m coming!” he wrote.

NBC News has reached out to the White House, FEMA, the Trump campaign, the Harris campaign and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s office for comment.

There is no evidence that Democrats blocked aid to North Carolina.

Last week, tech billionaire Elon Musk, who supports Trump, posted on He said FEMA is actively stopping people.

FEMA Public Affairs Director Jaclyn Rotenberg said last week that “any claims that FEMA is confiscating or expropriating goods, supplies, or resources in North Carolina, Tennessee, or other Helen-affected states are false.” said.

“FEMA has supported the delivery of Starlink terminals to North Carolina, including the Eastern Band of Cherokee Nation and state-defined critical lifeline locations,” Rosenberg added. “These units support state and local governments, urban search and rescue, and disaster coordination. Starlink units have been deployed to multiple states to support Hurricane Helen response efforts.”

President Trump continues to spread false claims about the federal government’s response to Hurricanes Helen and Milton, despite calls from Democrats and other leaders to stop. For example, he said FEMA is diverting disaster funds from hurricane victims to illegal immigrants. He also said FEMA only provides $750 to disaster survivors. FEMA debunked those and other rumors.

Meanwhile, some Republican officials, including Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, have praised Biden and his administration’s response to the deadly storm over the past two weeks. Democrats say the rumors are hurting hurricane victims, and Biden denounced Trump’s false claims as “ridiculous” and called Trump “un-American.” Ta.
