Kamala Harris is heading to the border today to flip the script on Donald Trump’s signature issue.

In the Arizona border town of Douglas, the vice president will accuse President Trump of being disingenuous in addressing challenges at the U.S.-Mexico border, despite his escalating rhetoric.

President Trump and the Republican Party have relentlessly criticized Harris over the Biden administration’s immigration record, which reached a record high last year. They shift much of the blame to Harris, falsely claiming that he has been appointed “border czar.”

On Friday, Ms. Harris went on the offensive, accusing Mr. Trump of playing politics on the issues that matter most to American voters.

“The American people deserve a president who cares more about border security than political gamesmanship,” Harris is expected to say, according to excerpts of her remarks released by her campaign.

At President Trump’s urging, Congressional Republicans earlier this year blocked a sweeping bipartisan border security measure that included asylum enforcement they had sought. After that failed, Biden enacted a rule temporarily barring immigrants from seeking asylum at the southern border. Since its implementation, arrests at the border have plummeted.

At a rally in North Carolina earlier this week, President Trump said Harris’ credibility on border issues was “less than zero.”

Polls show that immigration is the top concern for voters across the country and in Arizona, the only battleground state that borders Mexico. Immigration remains President Trump’s top issue, but Harris has made some progress and has narrowed her lead with less than six weeks until Election Day.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in New York at approximately 9:45 a.m. this morning, the Associated Press reported.

Friday’s meeting between Trump and Zelensky came a day after the Ukrainian leader met with Kamala Harris and Joe Biden at the White House, and comes amid heightened tensions between Trump and Zelensky this week. I was disappointed.

On Wednesday, Trump at a campaign event accused Zelensky of “refusing” to negotiate a peace deal with Vladimir Putin.

“The president of Ukraine is in our country, and he’s making some nasty attacks on me, your favorite president,” Trump said, adding, “We’re going to give billions to Zelensky, the man who rejects the deal.” They also keep giving dollars,” he added.

The comments came after Zelenskiy’s controversial interview with The New Yorker, in which he questioned Trump’s plan to end the war between Ukraine and Russia and asked Trump’s vice president He criticized candidate J.D. Vance, calling him “too radical.”

According to the Washington Post, this will be the first direct meeting between Trump and Zelensky since 2019.
