The England captain has been struggling with an ankle problem but has missed just two games for Bayern through injury since joining in the summer of 2023.

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany says it is “too early” to know the extent of Harry Kane’s injury, but he is hopeful that the defender will be able to play in Wednesday’s Champions League match against Aston Villa. Ta.

Kompany said: “I don’t have exact information, but I hope it’s only a little bit of pain. He should be able to return this week.”

Kompany said he hoped Kane would make a quick return after the England captain was sent off with four minutes left in Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Bayer Leverkusen. Ta.

Asked if Kane’s injury was serious, Kompany said: “I hope not.”

“I’m not a doctor so it’s too early. I know something happened, but I hope he’s ready for Wednesday.”

Kane collided with Leverkusen’s Amin Adli and fell to the ground holding his leg.

The England captain has been struggling with an ankle problem but has missed just two games for Bayern through injury since joining in the summer of 2023.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said he was unsure about Kane’s injury status, but added: “Harry is a pretty tough player so it makes sense for him to be off the field.”

“The circumstances[of the incident]don’t look good, but I hope he’s made of good British wood and is sturdy and nothing is broken.”

Although Kane did not have a shot on target in this game, he has continued to perform well for Bayern so far this season.

The 31-year-old has scored 10 goals in seven games in all competitions, including four in Bayern’s Champions League opener against Dinamo Zagreb.
