A group of Worcester Prep high school students recently visited the WBOC-TV studios in Salisbury, Maryland, to participate in a new career exploration program aimed at introducing them to opportunities within and outside the region.
Combining academic preparation with real-world observations, the program features a speaker series, site visits to area businesses, and opportunities to get up close and personal with local experts in a variety of industries.
At WBOC, students learned about the news media industry by reviewing production procedures, discussing on-air responsibilities, and participating in question-and-answer sessions with members of the studio team. Students were also able to practice delivering weather forecasts in front of a green screen. The organizers would like to thank Steve Hammond and the entire WBOC team for hosting WPS students.
