Zachary Levi is under fire for controversial comments he made on Instagram Live linking the tragic death of Broadway star Gavin Creel to the COVID-19 vaccine.

During the session, Levi blamed the vaccination for Creel’s advanced stage cancer and said he believed Creel might still be alive if he hadn’t gotten the vaccine. The claim quickly sparked a backlash, with experts and fans pointing out that there is no scientific evidence linking COVID-19 vaccines to cancer.

Gavin Creel’s official cause of death was a rare, aggressive, metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma, unrelated to the vaccine.

Chris Peterson, founder of OnStage Blog, slammed Levi’s comments as “reckless” and “disrespectful”, saying they distract from Creel’s accomplishments in the theater world and her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. Peterson argued that the focus should remain on celebrating Creel’s life, highlighting his influential career and dedication to love and equality.
