I believe Thomas Frank’s attitude as a coach has allowed Brentford to work on scoring goals early in training.
When I was a player, whenever we spoke in the pre-game huddle, we often talked about turning on right away because the first 10 minutes are the most vulnerable moment.
Brentford took that into consideration and made a proactive move to score early goals. As a player, you want to score early. Because that means you can start to gain confidence in your game.
It’s certainly something that can be worked on in training, and given Frank’s coaching style, it’s no surprise to me that it’s an area he’s identified as a way to gain an advantage early in matches.
But now that we have established that, we have to start being consistent in our style of play to create more chances throughout the match.
They are still allowing the team to return to the game, so there is no final result.
