Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice left Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers in a cart due to a knee injury. Initial reports said the team believed Rice had torn his anterior cruciate ligament. That has not yet been confirmed, but he continues to undergo tests.
Head coach Andy Reid said Thursday that Rice has been removed from practice and will undergo further testing next week. While we wait, the Chiefs have placed Rice on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.
“I think where we are right now is just wait and see,” Reed said. “For his sake, we really hope things work out for the best, but we’ll see what happens. I’ll leave that to the doctors to decide. I’m not a doctor by any means.”
Rice was injured while chasing quarterback Patrick Mahomes after he threw an interception to Chargers cornerback Christian Fulton. Rice tracked Fulton on an interception return and stole the ball from behind. At the same time, Mahomes jumped in front of Fulton and made a tackle.
“I wasn’t too worried about myself,” Mahomes said. “I was worried about his injury, but I hope it wasn’t as bad as it looked because I was the one who hit him.”
Giants exclude Nabors (concussion)
The Giants ruled Malik Nabors out of Sunday afternoon’s game in Seattle after suffering a concussion during last Thursday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Nabors attempted a catch along the sideline on fourth down, but was unable to get a first down. He remained seated and was attended to by Giants athletic trainers before being taken to the locker room for the remainder of the game. He was then ruled out with a concussion.
The next day, Nabors entered concussion protocol, and head coach Brian Daboll said the rookie wideout’s use would be decided during the game, but announced Friday that Nabors would not play but was doing well. .
Browns lose DE Alex Wright for the season
The Cleveland Browns’ defense suffered a blow on Thursday when defensive end Alex Wright posted on X that he would need surgery and be season-ending.
Wright said he has been suffering from triceps pain since August. A recent MRI revealed further damage that required surgery.
After the Jacksonville game, he underwent an MRI on his triceps as he was dealing with pain from a muscle tear in the same area during a joint practice with the Vikings. Somehow it turned into a freak accident because he wasn’t even using his right arm while playing. So even after knowing that, I still…

Wright, 24, appeared in four games this season and totaled eight tackles and one sack.
Nick Chubb returns to practice
More than a year after suffering a serious knee injury, Browns running back Nick Chubb returned to practice Wednesday.
Chubb, who underwent surgery to repair the medial capsule, meniscus, MCL and ACL, said his knee is in good condition but he has not determined when he will return.
“It didn’t seem real. It was like a dream,” Chubb said. “I’ve been dealing with this for a while, and it’s so nice to finally be back in the field, all off my shoulders.”
A 21-day grace period has been opened for Chubb to return to the Browns’ active roster. He was absent from the fifth week.
Colts without Taylor, Richardson questionable
Running back Jonathan Taylor will miss Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to an ankle sprain. Quarterback Anthony Richardson’s play is questionable.
Taylor’s injury is the same ankle that has caused issues in the past, and the running back suffered a similar injury in 2022. After missing several games that season, Taylor injured his ankle again in December and was placed on injured reserve for treatment. He underwent surgery and ended the season.
According to multiple reports, this ankle injury is not as serious as in previous years, but Taylor’s recovery time will likely be longer than usual given his injury history.
Joe Flacco received most of the first-team reps on Friday, a good indication that the team is leaning toward starting him at center for another week.
