With only one matchup between the top 25 teams, this week looked like it could be a bust. But college football always delivers results when you least expect it, and Saturday featured two top-five upsets.

A week after holding off Georgia in a clash of SEC powerhouses, No. 1 Alabama lost to Vanderbilt 40-35 in Nashville. Then, No. 4 Tennessee lost 19-14 to Arkansas after the Hogs rallied in the fourth quarter to cap off a wild day in the SEC.

The Commodores trailed by 23.5 points, but won the upset and never trailed. Vandy QB Diego Pavia was the hero, completing 16 of 20 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns, and also added 57 yards rushing.

The Razorbacks’ defense was key to defeating the Volantes, holding off Nico Iamareaba all night (17-of-29 passing for 158 yards), but the hero was backup QB Malachi Singleton. He filled in after Tyren Greene was injured late in the game and led the Hogs on the game-winning touchdown drive, driving into the end zone with his legs for an 11-yard score. The Vols had a chance to counterattack, but they fell short.

Elsewhere, No. 5 Georgia State bounced back from its loss to Alabama thanks to Auburn’s handling, No. 3 Ohio State looked convincing in the Iowa loss, and freshman Jeremiah Smith once again He made a one-handed TD grab. In the only rank-on-rank matchup, No. 25 Texas A&M defeated No. 9 Missouri 41-10 earlier in the day.

Here are the biggest winners and losers from Saturday’s game. Check out the rest of tonight’s games below.
