Rising country star Tucker Wetmore is relying on his faith and God’s plan for his life as he begins his career.
“If it wasn’t for my faith, I wouldn’t be here,” Wetmore told Fox News. “Spiritually and musically, and the beliefs that I have in my work, my music, etc. I pray every day for something like a coincidence.”
He also said he is susceptible to the temptations that come with being in the spotlight, but quickly turns to God after each failure.
“When you’re working, it’s hard to avoid slipping and falling a little bit. So, you have to admit to yourself and do that, and then rely on the people around you and say, ‘Hey, I’m not doing this right now. I’m having a really bad time.’ But God always keeps me in the center. He always takes me right back and says, “No, this is the path I have prepared for you.” And I’ve never doubted it. ”
She added: “But it’s hard. Sometimes it’s hard. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t. But then I sit back and think, ‘No, this is it.’ This is God’s way for me. ‘And I just had to sit back and trust and listen. ”
Along with his faith, Wetmore credits his mother for his country music career. While working at a coffee shop and wondering which direction to take, he turned to his mother for advice.
“I sat her down and said, ‘Mom, I’m so lost right now. I don’t know what I’m doing with my life,'” he recalled telling her. Ta. “I was like, ‘I’ve had so many purposes and now I’m not doing anything.’ She said, ‘Go sit down at the piano and play the guitar.’ And she said, “That was your therapy.” When you were 11 years old, you were going through a lot as a family. ”
Her encouragement inspired him to start playing music again and move to Nashville in 2020. Now, he is following his dreams and trusting God along the way.
The 24-year-old has just released his first album, titled Waves on a Sunset.
“I made it with some friends and I’m definitely very proud of all the songs,” he said of the EP. “I’m so proud of my team and all the writers… It was just me and a bunch of guys actually making music, and that’s what I want it to be like forever.” It was really cool.”
He will be headlining his first tour in October and November of this year.
“Guys, I’m going on my first headline tour!! I can’t believe I kept it a secret for this long,” he announced on Instagram. “This has been my absolute dream for a long time and you all made it all possible. Also taking my friends @hannahmmcfarland @eli.winders @ashlandcraft. God bless you He is a very nice person.”
