North Carolina’s No. 12 team, Mount Tabor, is led by wide receiver Shamarius Peterkin, who will be looking for a dominant win Friday against Davie High School, a top 100 team in North Carolina. .
Clatterbaugh and Eastern View High School are scheduled to play James Monroe on Thursday. The Eastern View Eagles hold a 3-2 record after losing to North Stafford 38-21 last week. Clatterbaugh committed to Virginia Tech early, making his commitment in March 2024.
Woodbury Forest, ranked No. 3 in Virginia, hasn’t played a game since Sept. 21, but will continue its season this Friday against St. Christopher’s.
The Stonebridge Bulldogs are fresh off their first win of the season and will not play this Friday.
Stallard and the Blue Demons are tasked with competing against Blacksburg High School on Friday.
The Green Run pipeline to Virginia Tech is very active. Athletic Jaden Anderson, cornerback Kunarij Harrell and edge rusher Zeke Chinwijk have all committed to play at Virginia Tech in 2024. Green Run will not play a game this Friday, but will look to continue its undefeated season next week against Bayside High School.
Overton, listed at 5-foot-10.5, was traded to the Hokies on June 28. Overton and the Hawks have led the team, averaging over 63 points per game. Hayfield will not play on Friday the 11th, but will play against Mount Vernon High School the following week.
Heading into the 2024 season, the DeSoto Eagles are ranked No. 5 in the nation and No. 2 in Texas by MaxPreps. Ryan is in his first year with the Eagles and hopes to lead DeSoto to another state championship. Ryan is a two-way quarterback who brings a wealth of talent and intelligence to the position. He will face his biggest challenge this Friday against the No. 1-ranked team in Texas and the No. 4-ranked Duncanville Panthers in the nation.
Irmo, ranked No. 5 in South Carolina, is led by Virginia Tech commit AJ Brand at the quarterback position. Brand has led Irmo to an undefeated season thus far, recording 14 passing touchdowns, nine rushing touchdowns and just one interception. Irmo will face River Bluff High School on Oct. 11 in a top-20 showdown of South Carolina teams.
Wright and the Forest Park Bruins will not play this Friday, but are preparing to play Garfield High School, a top 60 team in Virginia, next week.
Chambers is the leader of DeMatha’s team, which ranks among the top three in Maryland according to MaxPreps rankings. The Stags will play Gonzaga High School on Saturday at 2pm ET.
Henderson and Heide Trask High School suffered a demoralizing 52-0 loss to Whiteville High School in its last game. Heide Trask is expected to bounce back this week against the East Bladen Eagles, who are 2-5.
