The National League Championship Series begins. It’s a huge national matchup between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Mets clinched one of the last wild-card spots in the National League on the final day of the regular season, and have defeated the Brewers and Phillies thus far in the postseason. The Dodgers remained one of the top teams in the National League, and in baseball as a whole, throughout the season.
Shohei Ohtani has been a huge factor for Los Angeles, with the Dodgers winning four of the six games played between these two teams this season. The NL MVP candidate played in five of those games, batting .316/.458/.684 with two home runs, six RBIs, and five walks in 24 at-bats.
