History LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 18 TCU volleyball team made quick work of Texas Tech and dominated the Red Raiders on Wednesday night at United Supermarket Arena to end a three-game homestand.

The Horned Frogs (13-4, 5-2 Big 12) hit .352 as a team, went lights out at the service line and finished the night with seven aces. It was a five-game winning streak against Texas Tech. Melanie Parra led TCU with 19 kills on 40 swings, hitting a .400 clip. She had 10 total digs, marking her eighth double-double of the season. Jalin Gibson also reached double figures with 11 kills while hitting four aces at the service line. Becca Kelly and Alexis Roberson combined for 13 kills on an impressive .571 batting average.

The first set was tied at 5 and TCU’s offense started to heat up. The Three-Headed Dragons of Gibson, Kelly and Parra all scored points in turn, giving the Frogs a 15-10 lead at the media break. Texas Tech continued to score and took advantage of a 7-2 late lead to cut the lead to two points at 23-21, but TCU had seen enough. Roberson made a kill on set point and Gibson hit an ace off the court for the Red Raider, giving the Frogs a 25-21 set victory.

Texas Tech was even with TCU for the first 10 points of the second set, but Gibson carried the momentum to the service line with a kill on a 7-0 run. The Frogs took control and continued toward the goal line, taking the second set 25-20 at a .350 clip as a team.

Despite not leading in two sets, TCU continued to press the accelerator toward the sweep. After an early Texas Tech 3-point run, Gibson and Parra tore apart the Red Raiders at the service line, and the Frogs went on a 13-1 run to completely flip the set. TCU stayed on track the rest of the way, with Kelly making one last swing in the final set for a commanding 25-13 victory.

No. 18 TCU returns home to Schollmeyer Arena on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00 PM CT to take on Cincinnati.
