Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of drunk driving in Franklin, Tennessee, according to WGN.
Police said Cutler, 41, allegedly rear-ended another vehicle and caused a minor traffic accident. He reportedly developed slurred speech and refused field sobriety tests, then was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was taken pursuant to a warrant.
Police searched Cutler’s car and found two guns in his possession, including a loaded handgun.
Cutler was later taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, failure to use due care to avoid a collision, implied consent, and possession of a handgun while driving under the influence.
Cutler was booked into the Williamson County Jail and released on $5,000 bond.
Cutler was drafted 11th overall by the Denver Broncos in 2006 out of Vanderbilt. He played 12 years in the NFL with the Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins. He retired after the 2017 season.
