Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 8 Early Pickups

It’s never too early to start looking at the next matchups and opportunities to improve your fantasy football lineup. There are several options to consider for Week 8.

Romeo Doubes, WR, Green Bay Packers (44% enrollment)

A week after catching two touchdowns, Romeo Dubs led the Packers in receptions (eight catches for 94 yards on 10 targets) in a close 24-22 victory over the Houston Texans. .

There was a lot of talk in the offseason about who would be Jordan Love’s number one target in the passing game. Dowse, Jaden Reed, Christian Watson, Dontavion Wicks and Tucker Craft all appeared to have viable cases. However, Dous is currently putting up a string of quality games, and the Packers’ schedule (against receivers) continues to consist of friendlies against Jacksonville and Detroit. Consider this your last call to Doo.

Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots (31%)

Hunter Henry seems to be offered on waiver wire articles every few weeks. I get it – the Patriots offense doesn’t inspire much confidence or excitement. But at least Drake May brings a new element to the case. And while New England’s rookie QB didn’t make the most of the plus matchup in Week 7, Henry caught 8 of 9 targets for 92 yards, his favorite target. It has shown that it is far more than that.

Keep in mind that with Demario Douglas out with an illness, Henry may have had no choice but to step up. But at least Henry is one of Mae’s main appearances. And the tight end position isn’t that easy to solve. If you need help, add Henry.

Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills (32%)

Most of the Bills’ headlines heading into Week 7 were about the team’s acquisition of Amari Cooper, and rightly so. The consensus is that Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid won’t be affected too much by Cooper’s presence, but the Bills’ outside receivers — who aren’t fantasy-relevant anyway — will take the biggest downgrade. That’s probably it.

Rookie Keon Coleman apparently didn’t get that memo.

Coleman not only led the Bills in receiving yards (125 on four catches) in the Bills’ 34-10 win, but he also tied Shaquille for the team lead in targets with seven. It was the rookie’s best game of the season.

Cooper’s presence could actually help relieve Coleman from the increased focus on defense and give him more opportunities for big plays and yards after the catch. This could be just the beginning of Coleman improving as a receiver for the Bills – go get him.
