women’s soccer
-The Vikings travel to Milwaukee this weekend to take on the Panthers on Saturday, October 26th to close out the 2024 season.
-In their last game, Cleveland State had back-to-back shutout wins, defeating Youngstown State 1-0 on the road and defeating Oakland State 4-0 in their final home game.
-Elise Broderick scores the school’s first two wins with a goal, Brooke Offerman has two goals against Oakland, and Myra Sesmas scores the game-winning goal for YSU, bringing her season total to a team-high five goals. Stretched to.

men’s soccer
-Cleveland State will only play one game this week, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne on Senior Night on Saturday, October 26th.
-Last week, the Vikings swept the #HLMSOC weekly awards, with Matteo Correia (offense) and Ryan Poehling (defense) taking home the honor.
-In last weekend’s game in Milwaukee, Ryan Poehling made a career-best nine saves in goal.

volleyball
-Cleveland State will hit the road this week, beginning a five-game road swing at RMU on Thursday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 25.
-In their last game, the Vikings split the series with Purdue-Fort Wayne, winning 3-0 on Alumni Day, which featured more than 30 former Vikings.
-Going into this weekend’s game, the Vikings are tied for 4th in the #HLVB standings.

cross country
-The Vikings will take a week off and return to action in the Horizon League Championship on Saturday, November 2nd.
-In its last appearance, Cleveland State participated in the Falcon Invitational and was paced by Natalie Keller (22:12) and Anna Crangle (22:31), both of whom posted top-30 finishes.
-In addition to Keller and Crangle, Arianna Coates (23:59) also posted a personal best time for the 6K at the Falcon Invitational.

swimming and diving
-Cleveland State will take a week off before heading to Youngstown State on Saturday, Nov. 2.
-Last meet, the women’s team hosted Eastern Michigan in the annual Pink Meet, with Isabella Caraballo (1000 free), Grace Cherff (50 free) and Giovanna Cappabianca (200 IM) winning individual swims.
-Brooke Eichel won the 1M with an NCAA zone cut of 270.08 and placed second in the 3M.

men’s golf
-Cleveland State concludes its fall season this week at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, participating in a 54-hole tournament on Monday, Oct. 21 and Tuesday, Oct. 22.
-The Vikings will be one of 12 teams in the field, with the game taking place on the NCR South Course.

women’s golf
-The Vikings will conclude their fall campaign this week by participating in the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Monday, October 21st and Tuesday, October 22nd.
– The 54-hole tournament will be held at the NCR North Course, and the Vikings will be one of 10 teams in the field.

women’s tennis
-Cleveland State will take a week off from competition and return to action at the Toledo Invitational on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2.
-In the last tournament, the Vikings held the annual Viking Invitational Tournament, with Sima Herren winning the singles title and the duo of Therese Vivere and Ella Franz winning the doubles title.

men’s tennis
-The Vikings will be back in action this weekend at the Viking Invitational, welcoming the team to the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion from Friday, October 25th through Sunday, October 27th.
-This weekend’s tournament will feature a singles draw and a doubles draw, with 7 teams participating.
-This will be the Vikings’ fifth tournament of the fall season, with Cleveland State’s last action being in the ITA Midwest Regional earlier this month.

This week’s Viking nominee
Ellis Broderick, women’s soccer
He posted back-to-back shutouts against Youngstown State and Oakland University, making five saves during the week to help the Vikings win their first win of the season.

Brooke Eichel, Women’s Swimming & Diving
After winning the 1M against Eastern Michigan, he was registered for the NCAA zone cut and finished runner-up in the 3M.

Sima Helen, women’s tennis
At the Viking Invitational, he went 3-0 and won the singles title with wins over Duquesne, Bowling Green, and Youngstown State.

Natalie Keller, cross country
At the Falcon Invitational, he finished 20th ahead of the Vikings, posting a 6K time of 22 minutes, 12 seconds and ranking fifth on the top performance list.
