Monday, October 21st

class AA

1. Bozeman Gallatin (8-0). Last week: Defeated No. 3 Billings West 39-21. This week: vs. Billings Skyview (1-7).

2. Helena Capital (7-1). Last week: 57-17 win over Kalispell Flathead. This week: vs. Butte (3-5).

3. Kalispell Glacier (7-1). Last week: Defeated No. 5 Missoula Big Sky 35-7. This week: Missoula Sentinel (4-4).

4. Billings West (7-1). Last week: Lost to No. 1 Bozeman Gallatin 39-21. This week: Belgrade (1-7)

5. Helena (4-4). Last week: 13-10 win over Butte. This week: Missoula Big Sky (5-3).

Around Class AA: The lines in Class AA have been clearly drawn between the top four and everyone else in recent weeks, with top-ranked Bozeman Gallatin on the road this Friday and No. The number one position has become even more solid. In a matchup between the last remaining undefeated players in the division, they handled Billings West 39-21. As a result, the Golden Bears fell one spot to fourth place, swapping places with Kalispell Glacier, who was newly placed in third place. Meanwhile, Helena High School moved up to fifth place with three consecutive wins.

1. Frenchtown (8-0). Last week: 56-0 win over Stevensville. This week: Butte Central (3-4).

2. Billings Central (8-0). Last week: Beat Lockwood 63-7. This week: Miles City (5-3).

3. Dillon (6-1). Last week: Beat Butte Central 49-0. This week: Libby (3-5)

4. Havre (6-2). Last week: 41-12 win over Sydney. This week: vs. Lewistown (6-2).

5. Columbia Falls (5-2). Last week: 43-14 win over Bigfork. This week: vs. Ronan (3-4).

Around Class A: The top five teams all won last week, so there will be no change in the rankings even into the final week of the regular schedule. No. 1 Frenchtown and No. 2 Billings Central continue to lead the title contender conversation with 8-0 overall records. The Rams will face their arch-rival this week in Miles City, a 5-3 team looking for an upset. Fourth place Harbor will play Lewistown in a matchup of teams with 6 wins and 2 losses.

1. Malta (8-0). Last week: Beat Cut Bank 45-16. This week: vs. Fairfield (4-3).

2. Manhattan (8-0). Last week: Defeated No. 3 Jefferson 37-19. This week: Columbus (4-3).

3. Florence (7-1). Last week: 45-14 win over Thompson Falls. This week: Missoula Loyola (4-3).

4. Jefferson (6-2). Last week: Lost 37-19 to No. 2 Manhattan. This week: vs. Townsend (4-3).

5. Red Lodge (6-1). Last week: Idle. This week: Shepherd (2-6)

About Class B: Last week’s big South Division matchup between top-five teams Manhattan and Jefferson was won by the second-ranked Tigers by a score of 37-19. Manhattan is stable this week in second place behind No. 1 Malta, but Jefferson has fallen to fourth place. The game to watch this week is the showdown between No. 3 Florence and rival Missoula Loyola for the West Division title. Entering the final week of the regular season, both teams have 4 wins and 0 losses in league play.

6. Manhattan Christian (7-0). Last week: Beat Ennis 44-24. This week: vs. Lodge Grass (2-6).

7. Drummond vs. Phillipsburg (7-1). Last week: 61-8 win over Twin Bridges. This week: Lone Peak (5-2).

8. Culbertson (7-1). Last week: 56-12 win over Wiborg. This week: vs. No. 4 Circle (7-1).

8-Man Teams: Everyone in the top 10 won last week, mostly convincingly, so there was no movement in the power rankings this week. No. 1 Fairview, No. 2 Belt and No. 3 Valley Christian are all 8-0, while No. 6 Manhattan Christian is 7-0 and undefeated for the fourth time in 8-man games. Two games will be played between ranked teams this week. In the East, No. 4 Circle and No. 8 Culbertson, both 7-1, will clash, while No. 5 Fort Benton (6-1) and No. 10 Chinook (6-2) will clash. 2) They face off in the North, and both have won five straight.

7. Savage (7-1). Last week: Defeated Westby Glenora 51-12. This week: vs. Richie Lambert (5-3).

8. Lincoln (6-1). Last week: Defeated White Sulfur Springs 34-0. This week: vs. Alberton (0-6).

9. Custer-Hisham-Melstone (5-3). Last week: Broadview-Ravina won 40-30. This week: vs. Shields Valley (4-3).

10. Noxon (5-2). Last week: Defeated Gardiner 68-25. This week: Hot Springs (5-3).

6-a-side: Centerville moves into No. 1 following last week’s 68-38 win over previously top-ranked Denton-Gayser-Stanford-Geraldine. The Miners, the defending state champions, have won seven straight games after losing by two points to Chester-Joplin-Inverness (also No. 4 this week) in the opening game. Box Elder, an upstart 6-a-side team, currently sit in second place and are the only undefeated team remaining in the class. DGSG suffered their first loss and fell to 3rd place.
