Guercio led a 20-point comeback in the fourth quarter on Saturday to help the Golden Eagles beat Edinboro 29-28. The redshirt junior quarterback threw for a career-high 372 yards and three touchdown passes, and also ran for a game-high 88 yards and one score. Clarion rallied from a 28-9 deficit in the fourth quarter with Guercio leading three straight touchdown drives. Two of those drives included long passes from Guercio, including a 67-yard touchdown throw to Ray Jackson and a 68-yard touchdown throw to Trevon Tate that set up Guercio’s touchdown run. That included passing yards.

On Saturday afternoon, Solomon recorded a team-high eight tackles and a pivotal interception in California’s 28-7 win over No. 6 Slippery Rock. With the Vulcans holding a 20-7 lead midway through the third quarter, he halted a Lock drive with an interception at the California 2-yard line. The Vulcans then committed turnovers for nearly nine minutes, scoring eight points and clinching the victory. Solomon helped anchor a defense that held Slippery Rock to less than 300 yards of total offense, including 10 rushing yards, while Rock entered the weekend scoring seven points and averaging more than 375 yards per game. He scored 28 points on offense.

Beitko hit two homecoming field goals as the Vulcans cruised to a 28-7 victory over No. 6 Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon. He made a 41-yard field goal early in the second quarter to give California a 17-0 lead. Beitko then scored his only points with a 20-yard field goal in the third quarter, making it a close 20-7 game. The McKeesport product also averaged 62.8 yards on six kickoffs, helping push Slippery Rock to an average starting position at its own 21-yard line.

Mills led the Warriors’ rushing attack in last Saturday’s 45-31 win over Westchester, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 10 yards per carry. He rushed for touchdowns of 32 and 37 yards and spearheaded a rushing offense that totaled 273 yards and five touchdowns.

Daugherty finished with five tackles and forced and recovered a fumble for a touchdown to lead the Bald Eagles to an exciting 35-32 victory over Bloomsburg last Saturday night. Daugherty’s defensive touchdown late in the first quarter helped Haven extend its lead to 21-6, which was crucial to the victory. Daugherty completed two passes and scored three points on the season in the season opener, helping the team improve to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the PSAC East.

Barrick punted four times and averaged 47.8 points in the Rams’ 35-21 win last Saturday against Millersville. He had all four punts inside the 20-yard line, including a long punt of 56 yards. A 47-yard punt in the second quarter went down on the 1-yard line, setting up Shepard’s first touchdown.

Snyder averaged 5.78 kills per set and a .333 win percentage in PSAC West games against IUP and Pitt-Johnstown. The senior recorded 29 kills in a four-set win over the Crimson Hawks on Friday, becoming the second player in program history to surpass 1,800 kills in the process. The 29 kills are the most in a four-set match in NCAA Division II this year. She also had nine digs and four blocks for a total of 32.5 points in the win. On Saturday against the Mountain Cats, Snyder was instrumental in a come-from-behind sweep, totaling 23 kills and hitting .333 as the Golden Eagles came back from a 2-0 deficit. She recorded 14 digs and added two blocks for a double-double. Snyder ranks third in the nation in kills per set (5.29) and points per set (5.76).

Sorenson had two great performances last week, helping Gannon to two sweeps against PSAC West opponents. Sorenson had a total of 10 blocks defensively and was a major contributor offensively as the Golden Knights swept California and Slippery Rock with a combined batting average of .647 and 24 kills in two games. She racked up 13 kills, including just one error on 17 attempts, for a .706 offensive success percentage in Gannon’s 25-9, 25-11, 25-13 victory over Cal on Saturday. It marked the opening of the weekend. She finished with 14.5 points and had two total blocks in the game. Sorenson then had five blocks, including three solo blocks. He recorded 11 kills in 17 attempts and made just one error for a .588 offensive success percentage in Gannon’s 25-23, 25-16, 25-8 win over SRU. did. Sorenson has a career-high 191 kills this season and leads GU with 94 total blocks.

Ludwig recorded his 3,581st career assist in a sweep at Kutztown on Oct. 18, breaking the program record for most career assists that had stood for 29 years. The senior also led the Marauders to back-to-back sweeps and a perfect 2-0 record over the Golden Bears and Warriors, totaling 55 assists, eight kills, 23 digs, and one block assist. Those eight kills came without an error, leading to a .444 batting average.

Ryan recorded 13 blocks (2 solo) and led Shepherd to a 2-0 week, including a 3-0 win over Lock Haven on Oct. 18 and a 3-0 win over Bloomsburg on Oct. 19. We won 2-2. She added 19 kills and one goal. A bargain pair. His 10 blocks (two solo) in the five-set match against Bloomsburg set a career-high mark.

Ella Fadal helped the Gannon women’s soccer team maintain first place in the PSAC West with a 2-0 victory over Edinboro on Oct. 16, returning after being sidelined for more than a month. He returned and scored. Midway through the first half, Fadahl received a pass in the box from Aubrey Pine, cut through the middle, passed the goalkeeper and fired a shot into the left side of the goal. This gave Gannon a 1-0 lead at the 27:17 mark, and her goal was the eventual game-winner. She helped No. 1 Gannon improve to 6-0-3 in the PSAC West and 8-0-3 overall. Fadahl has had great success against Edinboro over the past two seasons. She scored her first goal of 2024 against Boro on September 11 and scored two goals in two wins against the Fighting Scots in 2023.

Allison Cutter (Warrington, Pa./CB South) had a hat trick in the first 20 minutes Saturday afternoon to lead Westchester to a commanding 6-0 victory over Mansfield. Cutter became the first Westchester player to record a hat trick since current assistant coach Scarlett Walsh in a 2015 win over Wilmington. It was also Westchester’s first hat trick in a conference game since Marie DeAngelo did it against Mercyhurst in 2012.

Samantha Merklin held off the Huskies in both games to tie the game and keep them in contention for a spot in the PSAC tournament. He combined for seven saves over the weekend, including five in East Stroudsburg’s eighth game of the season, a game in which he had at least five stops. He recorded his sixth shutout of the year against the Warriors.

Slippery Rock midfielder Aitor Jorde had two goals and one assist for five points in the Rock’s 4-3 win at Seton Hill, with two of his four shots hitting the net. led the team. But the highlight for Jorde was scoring one of the most unlikely goals in the realm of football’s possibilities. The midfielder made his first appearance by hitting the second-half kick-off directly into the net. After Ignacio Roulin touched the ball and put it in play, Jorde punted the ball 60 yards over the goalie’s head and downfield into the back of the goal. Seton Hill’s defense was spectacular. The goal ended up in the box score in the 46th minute, but Jorde’s world-class goal came just three seconds into the first half. With The Rock trailing 3-2 with 14 minutes remaining, Jorde was again the hero for The Rock, heading in a corner kick in the 78th minute to tie the score at 3-3. SRU had no intention of competing for a single point, but 1 minute and 56 seconds later, Jorde intercepted the ball in midfield and sent a through ball into the penalty area for Arturo Pla Hernándiz, who assisted the winning goal in the 80th minute.

Another impressive freshman class at Gannon. Karl Dorner helped the Golden Knights earn shutout wins over Cal and UPJ. He played dominant defense, allowing just six shots to Cal and one to UPJ. Gannon now has his third consecutive shutout game, seventh shutout of the season, and also scored his second career goal on a lone shot against Cal Rogers.

Alex Wilstermann scored in the 71st minute as #25 Bloomsburg defeated Westchester 1-0 in a PSAC East division championship matchup on Saturday. In Wilstermann’s goal, he picked up a rebound from Jake Pacacha’s shot and sent it into the back of the net. The goal was the graduate student’s second of the season and was monumental in lifting the Huskies to the top of the East.

Brady Rimple led No. 25 Bloomsburg boys soccer to a 2-0 week with two shutouts. He made a lead-protecting stop in the 66th minute to maintain a 1-0 advantage in the Huskies’ win over East Stroudsburg. Bloomsburg’s first win against Westchester since 2019 was their sixth shutout win of the season, the top of the East, with six saves.
