Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a two-year, $24.5 million contract extension. NFL Network Report.
The deal keeps Kamara under contract with the Saints through the 2026 season and prevents him from becoming a free agent next offseason. The deal includes $22 million in guaranteed money and $1.5 million in incentives, with the value potentially rising to $26 million, according to the report.
Kamara, 29, played his entire eight-season NFL career with the Saints. He made the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons, but hasn’t appeared since 2021.
In seven games this season, Kamara has rushed for 438 yards and six touchdowns on 3.9 yards per carry and has rushed for 252 yards and one touchdown on 34 receptions. He is on pace for over 1,600 yards from scrimmage throughout the regular season.
The Saints got off to a good start this season offensively, scoring a combined 91 points in wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers in Weeks 1 and 2. New Orleans has lost five straight games since then, failing to score more than 13 points in three of those games. .
The Saints will look to end their losing streak on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers on the road (4:05 p.m. ET, Fox).
