ASTRI Technology Research (Shenzhen), a wholly owned subsidiary of ASTRI, has relocated to the “Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone” (Hetao Cooperation Zone).
The move took place earlier this year and was officially launched in October. This expansion is an important step in accelerating innovation and technology (I&T) collaboration within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The more than 1,300 square meter site includes approximately 1,100 square meters of space, offices and exhibition halls, as well as a 300 square meter laboratory located within the Hetao Cooperation Zone.
The opening ceremony was moderated by Ms. Lilian Chong, Deputy Minister for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr. Tseng Chienpeng, Director General of the Shenzhen Hetao Development Bureau, and Mr. Il Sunny Lee, Chairman of ASTRI.
Other guests included government officials and industry leaders from Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
Focus on semiconductors and smart mobility technology
ASTRI’s new facility Shenzhen branch is strategically located within the Hong Kong Science Park.
Spanning over 1,300 square meters, the site includes approximately 1,100 square meters of space, including offices and exhibition halls, as well as a further 300 square meters of laboratory space within the Hetao Cooperation Zone.
The facility’s location benefits from the Futian Free Trade Zone’s First Canal, which is a dedicated entry corridor connecting Lokma Chau to Shenzhen Futian Free Trade Zone.
ASTRI (Shenzhen) has launched several R&D and testing projects, mainly focusing on third-generation semiconductors and next-generation communication technologies.
In July 2023, ASTRI’s “International Applied Basic Research Laboratory Project” was officially launched in the Hetao Cooperation Zone.

Key developments include GaN high-end power technology development and test platform, SiC smart power system development and test platform, and smart campus simulation and test platform.
These platforms aim to foster technology transfer, commercialization and foster technology exchange while developing top talent.
Going forward, ASTRI (Shenzhen) will play the role of a “super connector” and promote collaboration between government, industry, academia, and research institutions.
Additionally, in June 2024, ASTRI (Shenzhen) will support the first cross-border C-V2X test in Hetao, successfully conducting autonomous driving tests and data collection under various extreme road conditions. Completed.
