EAST STROUDSBURG — Lock Haven’s football team got off to a strong start for the second straight week, with quarterback Jackson Ostrowsky recording 281 passing yards and four touchdowns, but in the end East Stroudsburg’s rally helped the host Warriors defeat the Bold. In an exciting Week 8 matchup in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, the Eagles won 38-35.
Ostrovsky, the PSAC’s top quarterback, had a great individual performance, completing 17 of 36 passes with no interceptions.
Through eight games, Ostrovsky has amassed 2,337 passing yards, which ranks sixth in Lock Haven history for passing yards in a season. His 19 passing TDs this season are third all-time in a single season at The Haven. He leads the PSAC in total passing yards, passing touchdowns, and passing yards per game (292.1).
An impressive start to the game saw Lock Haven lead 14-10 after the first quarter, and the Bald Eagles increased their lead over ESU to 28-17 at halftime.
KJ Howard rushed for a touchdown on the first offensive play of the game, and Tia Young, Coran Alleyne, Chris Hicks, and Nino Cinti all powered the offense with TD catches.
Young had six catches for 127 yards.
Damir Green carried the ball 13 times for 89 yards. Oscar Uduma, Rocco Daugherty and Kashir Henry led the defense. Uduma finished with 11 tackles, including 10 solo stops and one forced fumble. Daugherty recorded 10 tackles and one interception, while Henry chipped in with seven tackles.
Justin Anderson added one tackle for loss, bringing his career total to 30.5 tackles for loss, the fourth-most in school history.
With this loss, Lock Haven falls to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC East, and ESU moves up to 7-1 (4-1 in the PSAC East).
