Hello Darkness, my old friend…
The Giants are here to talk to you again.
They’ve been humming this song almost non-stop for over 10 years, but now it’s back on the air. All too soon, and far too soon, another season could be titled “The Sound of Silence.” This documentary chronicles the quiet offensive drumbeat of this team.
As always, it’s about scoring points, and the Giants simply and stupidly can’t do that. They’ve gotten worse and worse, but in 2023 they’re on track to score 15.6 points per game, and this season they’re on a roll with 15 points per game even after starting 1-3. Considering that, it seemed impossible. The loss set the Giants back to their annual holiday benchmark. The season begins after Labor Day, and the story picks up again, but it’s not yet the month that Halloween exists, and the Giants are teetering on the precipice of irrelevance.

How would another non-contender season affect the local landscape? As long as Aaron Rodgers is right, the Jets will be the team to beat. The Major League Baseball playoffs are about to begin. The Yankees have earned the right to attend, and the Mets have also secured the right to attend. With hockey training camp underway, Jalen Brunson and the Knicks can’t be left behind either. Liberty can aim for the title. If you can’t keep up, you’ll be left behind, and the Giants have done it so often that they know what it’s like to be on the edge of all the fun while letting supporters cut bait and waiting for the next NFL. Noda. draft.
“Things can change quickly,” third-year receiver Wan’Dale Robinson said Friday. “We know… there are a few more plays and the outcome of these games is going to be a little different.”
The results of these games are rarely different.
This team has a reliable offensive line in Malik Nabors, and with the addition of Brian Burns to a front group that includes Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeau, the team has a better ability to do damage on defense, and the offense I feel that I am superior. But it’s hard to break the addiction to losing. This is a strategy that resulted in a loss at Washington by failing to attempt a field goal, and then a loss two weeks later to the clearly declining Cowboys, who kicked too many field goals. No matter how you look at it, it’s a failure.
Lawrence showed no improvement, but Lawrence angrily reminded him that nothing mattered except the end result. “No matter who wins on the scoreboard, it’s a game,” the Giants’ best player said. “I don’t care about small victories.”
If there’s such a thing as fatigue, the Giants are suitably tired.
“It’s a long season,” coach Brian Daboll said. “Every week is different. I think there’s been a lot of improvement, and it’s not showing up in the results. We’re working on it right now, some of it’s on tape. So in this business, you have to be mentally strong. You have to be able to get through the tough times and manage the good times and continue to make corrections and do better the next week.”

Figuring out how to manage fun time is far down on Daboll’s to-do list. His team is not ignorant, terribly sloppy, or fallible. The Giants weren’t embarrassed, beat up or for lack of effort in Thursday night’s 20-15 loss. Just a mediocre fourth quarter.
This can’t even be pinned to the quarterback. The good news about Daniel Jones is that after a terrible season opener, he looked like a solid guy who helped the Giants win nine games and win one in the playoffs in 2022. However, although he is not very effective as a runner, once on base, he undergoes ACL surgery. The bad news is that Jones simply lacks the playmaking to get his team into the end zone as often as he did in 2022.

thank you
Jones and the upper echelons are unable to make big plays, such as underthrowing Darius Slayton deep on a free play, or hit targets with enough stride to allow defenders to close out with a tackle in front of a first down. is what separates quarterbacks. There are too many things you need to do right with all your possessions. The Giants played 13 more plays than the Cowboys on offense and had a significant advantage in time of possession (35:37 to 24:23). But settling for five field goals when a game could have been won by one touchdown is football no matter how you look at it.
Once again, the deal with the Giants is that they are pulled from the championship group too early and the intrigue is sucked out of the season. The vision that was planted in their minds still remains. It’s early autumn again, with leaves still hanging on the trees amidst depressed aspirations.
