The biggest game of the season (so far) is coming up.

On Saturday night, No. 2 Georgia will play No. 4 Alabama in the first top-five matchup of the season. This is the last of four ranked matches for a loaded week 5.

The biggest matches of the day are: Let’s take a closer look at all the actions below.

Time: Noon | TV: ESPN | Line: Kansas State -4.5 | Total: 55.5

Both teams enter this game after losses to begin conference play against a Utah team. The Cowboys lost 22-19 at home to a Utah team without center Cameron Rising, and Kansas State lost 38-9 to the Cougars in the second and third quarters. We lost big to BYU.

Time: 3:30pm | TV: Peacock | Line: Notre Dame -6 | Total: 45.5

The Cardinals defeated the Irish at home a season ago. And it’s fair to wonder if Louisville will be better this season than it will be in 2023. Former Oregon State and Texas Tech QB Tyler Schau has been very good so far this season, completing over 68 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and no interceptions. Notre Dame is still going to rely on Riley Leonard’s aerial game to complement its dominant run game through four games, despite injuries on the offensive line.

Time: 7:30pm | TV: NBC | Line: Penn State -18 | Total: 47.5

Illinois defeated previously undefeated Nebraska in overtime in Week 4, marking the third time since 1951 that Illinois has won its first four games. A big reason for that is the improved play of former Ole Miss QB Luke Altmaier. Can he keep it up against Penn State on the road? Against the Nittany Lions, opposing quarterbacks averaged just 144 yards per game.

Time: 7:30pm | TV: ABC | Line: Georgia -1.5 | Total: 48.5

This matchup of teams that make the playoffs every year features two Heisman candidates at quarterback. No quarterback has scored more touchdowns per game than Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, but Carson Beck spent much of the offseason as a candidate for the award. Beck’s 2024 season has yet to live up to the Heisman hype, but it wouldn’t be one bit of a surprise if Beck had a big game.

Time: 10pm | TV: FS1 | Line: Boise State -7.5 | Total: 64.5

Washington State is off to a 4-0 start, including wins over Texas Tech and Washington, and is on the precipice of the AP Top 25, anchored by QB John Matthia. However, the Cougars’ defense is allowing nearly 5 yards per carry. That’s a mouth-watering statistic for Boise State running back Ashton Giunty, who leads the nation with an average of 10.5 yards per carry. There’s a reason he’s the non-QB with the best Heisman odds (+2000) at BetMGM.

First quarter ends and OSU takes off.

The Cowboys just converted on third-and-long thanks to this pathetic catch and run by Ollie Gordon. On the next play, he broke for another 27 yards.

Gordon is finding his footing early in this game, which is great news for Oklahoma State.

BYU won 21-0 in the first quarter.

The Cougars added another touchdown at Baylor. They dominate the Bears early in Waco.

Saturday, September 28, 2024, 12:36 PM EDT

Oklahoma State would end the next possession and return the ball deep in its own half.

OSU makes a field goal

The Cowboys put together a decent drive on their first possession, but KSU was persistent in the red zone and made a field goal to make it 7-3.

They clearly made a concerted effort to get Ollie Gordon early, with the star RB carrying the ball six times for 43 yards.

Michigan strikes first against Minnesota

Speaking of picking up where he left off, Karel Marins is in Michigan’s starting lineup after making a hero turn in the win over USC a week ago.

Saturday, September 28, 2024, 12:21 PM EDT

BYU is still moving

The Cougars have bounced back from last week’s hiatus, taking a 14-0 lead against Baylor in an early road game.

Touchdown for K-State!

The Wildcats got on the board first after driving the length of the field on their first drive and capping it off with an 11-yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Avery Johnson.

It was a 14-play, 75-yard drive for Kansas State, which included a fourth-down conversion at midfield.

Saturday, September 28, 2024, 12:12 PM EDT

The Wildcats have the ball first as they look to bounce back from last week’s embarrassing road loss at BYU.
