ROCHESTER — The Maple Grove boys cross country team had a big showing at the McQuaid Invitational at Genesee Valley Park on Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons took first place out of 56 teams that qualified in the boys varsity A-2 division, more than 60 points ahead of second-place Northeast Bradford, led by junior Ethan. He took first place in Barboski with an amazing time of 15 minutes 23.0 seconds.
Maple Grove was led by Verboski with a score of 136, Jacob Lewis was 12th in 16:17.9, Jack Shelley was 43rd in 17:08.8, Owen Erlandson was 54th in 17:20.8, and Ty. Kraft finished 55th with 17 points. 21.7. The Red Dragons had two more runners who didn’t add to their top five scores, but still finished inside the top 100 with Josh Ashbaugh 62nd in 17:35.1 and Liam Price 86 in 18:00.4. It became the rank.
Frewsburg did not have a team score, but Cody Kent finished in the top 100 with a time of 16:09.6 for ninth place, and teammate Daniel Peterson also finished in 83rd place with a time of 17:58.8.
Climber/Sherman/Panama placed 10th with 460 points, making two teams break into the top 100. For the Wolfpack, Finn Fadeil was 46th with a time of 17:14.1, Flynn Fadeil was 84th with a time of 17:59.4, and Cody Howard, Max Guzman and Ely Smith rounded out the top five.
Gowanda finished 11th with a team score of 474, just missing out on the top 10, and Chase Bolen’s time of 16:25.1 was good for 14th in the division.
Rounding out the Panthers’ team scores behind Bolen is Cassis Montour, 28th with a time of 16:53.6, while the trio of Dustin Mohawk, Nathan Warrior and Brendyn Diebel have top-100 times. It’s out of range.
Falconer finished 22nd overall with 637 points, followed by Gabe Lundmark, 69th with a time of 17:43.3, and Brent Troutman, 99th with a time of 18:25.9. James Mitchner, Seth Kerr and Liam Sharp added the remaining points for the Golden Falcons.
Department A-1
East Aurora took first place in the boys A-1 varsity division with a score of 76 out of 53 teams that qualified, with Alden’s Gage Fader posting the top time of 15:13.9.
Fredonia was the top local team in 15th place with 488 points, led by Trenton Krenzer in 28th place with a pace of 16:40.2. James Fagan also posted a top-100 time for the Billys with a time of 17:56.1 for 88th place, with Nathan Keefe, Jack Fagan and Alexander Kramer rounding out the top five.
Southwestern finished 34th with 866 points, with Donavin Brown leading the way in 53rd place with a time of 17:18.4. Tristan Taylor, Ethan Lowndes, Kellan Brown and Caleb James added scoring for Southwestern.
Ben Bok’s 85th place time of 17:53.2 moved Silver Creek into 43rd place with 1,059 points. The Black Knights also got points from Trent Luck, Nate Cross, Dan Teese and Kayden Fote.
Although Salamanca did not qualify as a finisher, Jackson Close took the lead with a top time of 18:43.6.
Division AA
Pittsford Sutherland took the top spot in the mid-major AA division by defeating Fordham Prep by a narrow margin, 160-169. The top time was recorded by Daniel Granville of Arcadia, Greece, with a time of 15 minutes 21.7 seconds.
Randolph was led by Reece Kelly with a time of 18:43.6, with Nick Ashdown also taking part in the event.
Division AAA
Churchville-Chile College finished first in the large school AAA division with 91 points, with Carson Zuba of Lancaster University posting the top time of 15:38.7.
Jamestown finished seventh out of 23 teams with a score of 246, with CJ Wofford taking 17th place with a time of 16 minutes, 33.9 seconds. Following Wofford, the Red & Green team had five players finish in the top 100, with Finn Caswell finishing 24th with a time of 16:57.8, Wyatt Olmsted 66th with a time of 18:01.9, and Andrew Marucci with a time of 18 minutes. 71st place with a time of 16.1, and Tommy Cassman rounded out the team. 74th place in 18:17.5.

Division A-2
The Climber/Sherman/Panamanian Women’s Cross Country Team placed fifth with 183 points, led by Sorchi Martín-Locayo, who placed 20th with a time of 20:27.0.
Lake Placid led the way with 121 points, with Rocky Grove (Pa.)’s Isabel Griffin setting the pace with a time of 18:41.2.
In addition to the Wolfpack’s scores, Grace Cook was 19th in 20:57.8, Tess Frickema was 38th in 21:13.2, Caitlin Criner was 59th in 21:39.5, and Abby Malecki was 110 in 22:45.2. It became the rank.
Maple Grove finished in sixth place with a score of 213, with Evalyn Fessel leading the way in 23rd place with a time of 20:46.3. Also rounding out the top five players for the Red Dragons are Lilly Bohol, 47th with a time of 21:23.3, Presley Haynes, 49th with a time of 21:23.7, Mae Benedetto, 74th with a time of 21:52.7, and Sidney Simmons. It came in at 22 minutes 35.2 seconds.
Gowanda finished last among the qualifying teams with a team score of 846 points and was led by Degazwin John.
Although Frewsburg did not produce enough runners to place as a team, two girls posted top-50 times. Grace Gilewski placed 33rd with a time of 21:08.8 and Tegan Trocchi placed 46th with a time of 21:23.2.
Falconer and Cattaraugus Little Valley also competed, but none of them finished in the top 100.
Department A-1
The East Aurora girls matched the boys with an overwhelming first place finish with 54 points, with Emilia O’Leary leading the way with a time of 17:23.9.
Southwestern University’s Emma Lewis finished fifth with an impressive pace of 18:09.3, helping the Trojans rank 16th out of 36 teams with 409 points. Trinity Card joined Lewis in 37th place with a pace of 20 minutes, 23.3 seconds, Lillian Weikel was 83rd in 21 minutes, 35.6 seconds, and Addison Shaw and Taylor Long rounded out the Southwest top five.
Silver Creek’s Leah Mays finished outside the top 10 in 14th place with a time of 19:18.9, but the Black Knights finished 20th with 542 points. Molly Shaw also joined Mays in the top 100 with a time of 21:45.2. 86th, Emily Bain, Lily Shaw and Lily Wickmark rounded out the scorers.
Fredonia finished 22nd with 32nd pacer Meredith Lent running a time of 20:06.2. For the Billies, Isabella Ciekanski led the way in 48th place with a time of 20:39.9, while Emily McCann, Rosemary Gugino and Michaeli Barrier rounded out the team’s top five.
Salamanca did not have enough runners to finish as a team, but Lyanna Brady was one of the best runners, taking 16th place with a time of 19:28.0.
Division AA
On the girls’ side, Pittsford Sutherland won the AA division with 76 points, and Scotia-Glenville’s Keira McIntosh posted the top time of 18:22.8.
Randolph did not receive a team score, but Gracyn Roland finished in the top 50 in 37th place with a time of 20:33.6.
Division AAA
Frontier’s Lily Bogdan dominated the competition in the large school AAA division with a pace of 17:15.4, nearly two minutes ahead of second place and ahead of teammate Peyton Fisher’s 18:57.0.
With West Genesee’s low score of 69, winning the top two spots wasn’t enough for Frontier to win the team title.
Jamestown finished ninth as a team with 216 points, led by London Hamilton, who placed 12th with a time of 19:58.4. Adding to the point totals were Nora Bailey 55th in 21:44.0, Cater Hockenberry 57th in 21:52.7, Julia Stormont 58th in 21:53.3 and Nora Hamilton 73rd in 22:37.0. It became. Gabby Knight also broke into the top 100 in the Red & Green in 77th place with a time of 23:02.8.
In the 63rd minute, Elie Seiburg scored a goal from Eva Jimerson and Frewsburg defeated Southwestern 2-1.
ELLIcottville — Connor Young had a hat trick and Southwestern defeated Ellicottville 4-2 in the nonleague boys contest.
