Real Life Weight Loss Story: Lexi Reid is known for inspiring multiple generations through her weight loss journey. The fitness influencer lost over 136 kg in eight years. Just like every journey has its ups and downs, Lexi’s journey has had its ups and downs. She gained 40kg again last year after being diagnosed with calciphylaxis. The rare disease “completely turned my life upside down and made me question how strong I really was,” Lexi wrote in the post.
For those who don’t know, calciphylaxis is a rare disease in which calcium deposits build up in blood vessels in fat and tissue. Lexi’s journey continues to inspire many. Recently, she shared an emotional video on her official Instagram page, telling viewers that her weight today was 77.5 kg, which was the “lowest”.
“I worked hard to get down to my lowest pre-dermaectomy weight of 173 pounds, which was the lowest I’d ever been after being overweight my whole life. Honestly, I For years, I thought I’d never lose weight.” I’ve tried losing weight, going on some kind of diet, gaining back 100 pounds, battling a rare disease, but I’ve never seen it before. “I knew it was possible and I was confident that I would find the strength again to fight for my health this time,” she said.
In most of her posts, Reed mentions using a rowing machine, walking on a treadmill, and using a stair climber. She also recorded the difficulties she faced performing movements such as raising her legs on the captain’s chair. But she kept at it and eventually mastered it again after a few months.
She has said many times that her recent weight loss is due to her nutrition. While in the hospital, she struggled to keep her food down. “I wasn’t focusing on what I was eating. I was just trying to feed myself because it hurt so much. I literally didn’t want to move,” Reid told Today.com.
Reed prefers high-protein meals such as salmon, turkey burgers, asparagus, broccoli, and cottage cheese.
In a recent post, she concluded: “Even when everything seems to be going wrong, let me remind you that even when you doubt your strength and don’t know how to weather the storms you face, just keep going. I promise you that you can start anything today. Masu.”
