Barcelona’s approach is considered a model for PSG’s ninth solution
Paris Saint-Germain defeated rivals Olympique Marseille 3-0 at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday night. However, Ousmane Dembele missed a goal in this match and has been criticized for his lack of decisiveness.
A goal for the Parisians from Joao Neves, an own goal from Leonardo Balerdi and a goal from Bradley Barcola was enough for an away victory. Despite this, the absence of the No. 9 is beginning to show, with manager Luis Enrique opting for a false No. 9 over Randal Kolo Muani.

PSG could put all their eggs in the basket, with the return of Gonzalo Ramos from injury providing a solution. Still, RMC Sports pundit Daniel Riolo uses Barcelona as an example of what happens when a club has a proper number nine.
“Dembele’s mistake? It’s the same story every time,” Riolo said (h/t Le10Sport). “If you have a real striker in that spot, he will probably score goals. We saw that last night against Barcelona – the important thing is to have the right number nine.”
Last weekend, Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-0, with Robert Lewandowski scoring two goals in the second half.
