Jets running back Breece Hall bounced back from two bad games, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.
On Monday night, Hall ran 18 times for 113 yards and caught five passes for 56 yards, but the Jets ended up attempting four field goals from at or near the Bills’ 25-yard line throughout the game. I had to settle for it. Greg Zuerlein missed two of those kicks, and the Jets lost 23-20 on their home field.
The drive included a painful penalty and a pass that Garrett Wilson lamented not catching in the end zone. Wilson said, “If you shoot threes, you lose the game,” and Hall said his team “has a good chance to finish the game.”
“All we have to do is score,” Hall said via the team’s website. “We’ve got to get better in the red zone. We’ve got to make guys miss one-on-one. I feel like Garrett should have scored the second touchdown. We’re holding ourselves to a higher standard.” We need to keep asking ourselves what more we can do, because we can always do more.”
It’s been a tumultuous week for the Jets since firing head coach Robert Saleh, but the team was in position to come out of it with a win. Otherwise, it will be difficult for the team to shake off that failure as it enters Week 7.
