CAA Sports promotes Alexa Cook and Rob DeAngelis to new leadership roles

CAA has promoted two key executives to leadership positions and is doubling down on its commitment to sports.

Alexa Cook has been named global co-head of CAA Sports real estate sales and Rob DeAngelis has been named chief revenue officer of CAA Sports.

In his new role, Mr. Cook will work alongside Rob Slocum, who was named global co-head of CAA Sports Real Estate Sales in 2021. Together, Mr. Cook and Mr. Slocum will lead the agency’s real estate sales team on behalf of clients such as Formula. 1, Oracle Red Bull Racing, LA Clippers, Riot Games, Premier League, USTA.

DeAngelis, who previously served in Cook’s new role alongside Slocum, will now be responsible for generating revenue for all 19 CAA Sports divisions, including real estate sales, CAA ICON, brand consulting and CAA Evolution.

Danforth continued, “Rob DeAngelis has been the leader and largest revenue generator for CAA Sports Property Sales for more than a decade. He is a creative thinker with an innovative approach and tenacity. Our relationship with Rob is second to none, and we believe he is unique to our clients in all areas of CAA Sports. We are excited to create revenue opportunities for you.”

Cook joined CAA Sports as an assistant in 2010, was accepted into CAA’s agent trainee program in 2011, and was promoted to executive position in 2013. In 2020, Cook was instrumental in creating the Thunder Fellows Program, an initiative created by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Bringing new opportunities in the sports, technology and entertainment industries to Black students in the Tulsa area.

DeAngelis joined CAA Sports in 2010 from Van Wagner Communications, where he served as general manager of the sports group. DeAngelis joined Van Wagner in 2002. Both Cook and DeAngelis have been named to the Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list, which recognizes the best young talent in the business of sports.

Olivia Montella and Francesca Verbini, who were appointed Global Co-Heads of Property Solutions in January 2023, will strengthen the leadership of CAA Sports Property Sales. Montella and Verbini work closely with Slocum & Cooke, leading partnerships and creative strategy on behalf of CAA Sports real estate sales clients around the world. Montella is based in New York and Verbini is based in London.
