Week 9 features five matchups between teams ranked in the AP Top 25.
This is the highest-ranked matchup so far this season, which means we could be in for another great Saturday in college football.
Here’s what we’re looking at today: All times are Eastern Time and all odds are from BetMGM.
Time: Noon | TV: ABC | Line: Notre Dame -12.5 | Total: 51.5
The Midshipmen had an absolute lead with a 6-0 start. Navy’s 44.8 points per game ranks fourth in the nation, but its opponents are averaging just 19.7 points per game. Indeed, Notre Dame is the toughest team Navy has seen this season. The Fighting Irish are down five starting pitchers and continue to battle injuries.
Time: 3:30pm | TV: CBS | Line: Oregon -21.5 | Total: 54.5
Oddsmakers clearly like Oregon State, as the Illini are the last of the currently ranked teams on Oregon’s schedule. Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel and running back Jordan James will face an Illinois defense that is allowing just 18 points and forcing 13 turnovers per game.
Time: 3:30pm | TV: ABC | Line: Alabama -16.5 | Total: 51.5
With QB Brady Cook and leading rusher Nate Noel potentially out with injuries, the Tigers’ chances of pulling off an upset may be tough. Former Arizona State and Notre Dame QB Drew Pine is expected to start against an Alabama team looking to bounce back from its second loss of the season to Tennessee last week.
Time: 4:15pm | TV: SEC Network | Line: Texas -18.5 | Total: 53.5
The newly ranked Commodores will host the Longhorns at home three weeks after their upset against Alabama. Can Vandy shock the world again? A lot will depend on the play of two-way quarterback Diego Pavia, who will face a Texas team that suffered a heartbreaking loss to Georgia a week ago.
Time: 7:30pm | TV: ABC | Line: Texas A&M -2.5 | Total: 53.5
These are the only teams unbeaten in the SEC this season, so the winner will get an inside track to the conference title game. LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier has been one of the most productive QBs in the nation thus far and will be facing an A&M defense that has protected the pass very well.
