WVUE-TV and Gray Local Media announced expanded access to New Orleans Pelicans games to benefit NBA fans in the region as the 2025-26 season begins. Non-Pelicans games broadcast on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network will be available to DIRECTV streaming, satellite and U-verse customers throughout the team’s three home states.

Starting with Wednesday night’s road opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, DIRECTV customers in all three states can find upcoming Pelicans games on the following channels:

DIRECTV Streaming: Channel 676DIRECTV Satellite: Channel 676-6U-Verse: Channel 1759 (High Definition) and 759 (Standard Definition)

In addition to its home base in New Orleans, Pelicans games are now available to local fans in major Louisiana cities including Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Monroe and Shreveport. Biloxi, Hattiesburg, Jackson, and Meridian, Mississippi. Several communities include Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile, Alabama.

“Since the beginning of this great partnership, we have been working to make the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network available to as many New Orleans Pelicans fans as possible, and this is another big step in that process,” said Mikel Schaefer, general manager of WVUE-TV and GCSEN. “As the official broadcast partner of the New Orleans Pelicans, we believe this will dramatically increase viewership across our networks.”

“DIRECTV remains firmly committed to local sports at a time when many providers may be leaving or not joining, or at a time when maintenance costs may be higher,” said Linda Burakoff, DIRECTV’s senior vice president of content and programming. “We welcome the opportunity to work with a fan-friendly broadcaster like Gray to ensure all of our most loyal fans have access to their favorite local team.”

The Pelicans’ regular season begins on Wednesday, October 22nd against the Grizzlies in Memphis. The game will be simulcast on WVUE-FOX 8, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. and tipoff at 7 p.m. GCSEN is excited to be able to stream this much-anticipated season opener directly into local homes.

“As we begin a new season, we are proud to expand the reach of Pelicans basketball through our relationship with DIRECTV and make GCSEN more accessible than ever,” said Greg Bensel, Pelicans senior vice president of communications, broadcast, community and government relations. “This is a meaningful step forward in our continued efforts to connect with fans across the Gulf South, whether in the region’s big cities or small towns.”

In addition to Pelicans basketball, the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network continues to offer an exclusive lineup of sports and entertainment programming. This includes popular shows such as the Saints Kickoff Show and the Black & Gold Postgame Show, serving 14 markets across three states in the vibrant Bay Area.
