What’s interesting about this game for the Mets is that the rest of this series doesn’t go well for the Dodgers. Unless they want to start both Walker Buehler and Yoshinobu Yamamoto on short breaks in Games 6 and 7, Game 6 will likely be a bullpen game with Sean Manaea, who was great in Game 2.
And in Game 7, Buehler or Yamamoto vs. Luis Severino, I don’t know what will happen. This was a rather important game for the Dodgers, who opted to start Flaherty instead of playing a bullpen game today.
