Kevin Durant scored 25 points, Bradley Beal scored 24 points, and the Phoenix Suns opened the NBA season with a 116-113 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in overtime.
Clippers’ James Harden’s buzzer-beater bounced off the rim, but Durant scored with less than 30 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 103-103.
Beal gave the Suns, playing their first official game at Intuit Dome Stadium, a 114-110 lead with 1:20 left in overtime thanks to two free throws.
Harden had a chance to tie the game by missing the second of two free throws with five seconds left, but Jusuf Nurkic made two free throws at the other end.
Harden had 29 points and 12 rebounds, and teammate Ivica Zubac had 21 points.
The Suns will remain in California for Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Clippers will face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
Stephen Curry scored 17 points and the Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 139-104.
The Orlando Magic defeated the Miami Heat 116-97, and the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 124-109.
