PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — There are mixed emotions among Philadelphia sports fans after the Eagles’ blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Zach Benigni, a Downingtown resident who watched the game at Chickie’s and Pete’s in South Philadelphia, said, “It was disappointing and upsetting to see it fall like that early. Jalen (Hurts) couldn’t hold on. I couldn’t do it. It was difficult.”

“We don’t have five guys, we need AJ Brown, we need (DeVonta) Smith, we need the guys we lost. We’ll be fine,” West Philadelphia’s Jesse Brown said.

Fans still reeling from the 33-16 loss are trying to think of something positive, like the Phillies’ postseason, which is less than a week away.

“I’m a true Philadelphia sports fan and I’m looking forward to Red October,” said Debbie Barratt of Berlin, New Jersey. “I have faith in the Phillies and will get the job done this year.”

The Red October banner hangs at Citizens Bank Park.

Fans are hoping this week’s break will give the Phillies some rest and time to prepare for the National League Division Series, which starts on Saturday, October 5th.

The Eagles enter their bye week next Sunday and will look to bounce back against the Cleveland Browns on October 13th at Lincoln Financial Field.
