Today’s legal landscape has undergone dramatic changes. Companies around the world seek lawyers with a deep understanding of international legal frameworks and regulations, especially in emerging legal areas. Earning a Master of Laws degree from a top law school can make all the difference and give you the competitive edge you need to succeed in this evolving environment.

Enter Wake Forest University School of Law, which has one such program. The school is ranked 25th among best law schools (US News & World Report) and has a reputation for excellent teaching, scholarship, and service. Its history spans 130 years and produces graduates who create positive impact at the local, state, national and international levels. International students will find it to be a great place to prepare for the next stage of their career. We partner with institutions in China, Vietnam, and Ecuador and welcome foreign attorneys to experience all that Wake Forest Law has to offer.

“We are actively working to expand our global footprint by expanding our agreements with other law schools,” said Sarah Moras, professor of law and associate dean of international relations at the school. “I’ll do it,” he says. “Two recent examples include new exchange opportunities for JD students in Germany and a new agreement with the Ecuadorian Law School (University of Las Americas for potential LLM students). Includes.

The Master of Laws (LLM) degree program promises an authentic, experiential education with a robust and dynamic curriculum. The program covers specialized areas such as business law, criminal law, international law, technology law and environmental law, and is designed for foreign lawyers who are keen to develop their expertise and advance their careers. Interested in a niche? The program is flexible. You can also create your own specialization.

LLM graduate Adnan Kamberi describes studying the LLM as “one of the best experiences” of his life. The campus had everything to learn, relax, and have fun, but it was the people that had the biggest impact on him. “The academic and administrative staff are excellent and very professional,” he says. “The teaching environment is very appropriate, inclusive, and respectful. Everyone participates in the discussion and shares ideas and different perspectives while maintaining the respect and high level of education that Wake Forest Method provides. I did.”

Although it is small in design, it has a big impact.

International students on the LLM program benefit from an intimate learning environment coupled with a dedicated faculty of expert teachers and academics. Classes are small, with a student to faculty ratio of 7:1. This ensures personal collaboration and unique learning opportunities, preparing you for real-world challenges.

The school’s large size allows international students to get to know their professors and classmates and form relationships that last beyond graduation.

“Studying the LLM at Wake Forest Law is a great experience. All students are treated with respect and dignity, and all students are involved in class activities. Great teachers,” said LLM graduate Labinot Zeka. Masu.

The program is further distinguished by its experiential learning component. Students participate in legal clinics, internships, on-the-job training, and simulation courses, giving them hands-on exposure to prominent lawyers and judges from around the country. The Pro Bono Projects program is a great way for students to serve those in need by promoting equitable access to justice for marginalized communities, low-income areas, and individuals, especially in North Carolina.

Another important component of the program is mentorship. Each LLM student is paired with a senior J.D. student who provides instruction in and out of the classroom on topics such as law school life, legal practice, and even American customs and culture. You can seek further advice from a professional faculty advisor selected based on your personal interests and goals. Explore courses, research projects and even potential career paths after graduation.

“One of the most important accomplishments in my life to date was earning my Master of Laws with a specialization in Criminal Law from Wake Forest University School of Law. ” and encouraged me to work hard towards my goals,” says LLM graduate Elena Seidiu. “It has pushed me to do my best in every way, to grow academically, and to gain new perspectives on life. I will always be proud to be a Wake Forest alumnus and be proud of what I have created here. I will cherish the memories.”

attractive career outcomes

Even as your time at the law school ends, you can stay connected through the school’s rapidly growing alumni network. Connect with alumni from 28 countries, explore job opportunities, and connect with new students and alumni. All aspects aim for a bright career.

The results are in the book. LLM graduates have become leading figures in the legal profession and hold important positions in several practice areas. Common career paths include becoming a High Court judge, a criminal prosecutor, a lawyer in employment law, financial markets, intellectual property, human rights, and other areas. Education here has an international impact, with graduates employed in countries such as China, Japan, Switzerland and the UK.
