LONDON (AP) — Aaron Rodgers achieved another milestone in his illustrious career Sunday by becoming the ninth player in NFL history to throw for 60,000 yards in a regular-season game.
The 40-year-old New York Jets quarterback crossed the mark with a 7-yard goal against Tyler Conklin in the third quarter against the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Vikings won 23-17.
The four-time NFL MVP joins a list that includes Tom Brady (89,214 yards), Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre, whom Rodgers backed up for three years in Green Bay.
Favre (71,838 yards) is followed by Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan and Dan Marino.
Ryan was the eighth player to join the list and the second fastest (223 games). Brees was the fastest, reaching the goal in 215 games.
Rodgers entered Sunday’s game needing 96 passing yards to reach 60,000 yards.
Against the Vikings, he threw for 244 yards with two touchdown passes and three interceptions. Rodgers currently has 60,148 passing yards in regular season games.
Also on Sunday, the 20-year veteran passed Marino for seventh place on the NFL list in total passing yards in both regular season and playoff games. He entered needing 74.
