New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers briefly left the field during the Jets’ 23-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, raising concerns about a possible foot injury. Rodgers’ leg bent awkwardly during a tackle on third down in the third quarter and he briefly went to the sideline before returning to the field.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Rodgers told reporters after the game that he suffered a sprained ankle. Head coach Robert Saleh confirmed the news on Monday morning, saying: “All preliminary information indicates he’s OK.”

After the tackle, Rodgers cautiously stood up and left the field as the Jets went into a punt formation, heading to the medical tent for evaluation as Minnesota’s 15-yard penalty gave New York a first down. Rodgers then returned to the field to finish the drive before returning to the tent to evaluate. He appeared to play the rest of the game without incident.
Rodgers returned to the Jets this season after suffering a season-ending Achilles tendon tear during the Jets’ first drive of the 2023 season.
