An additional $400,000 will go toward equipment for recreation teams and park improvements.
LACKAWANNA, N.Y. — As a coach, Kevin Pallier invests in small futures all year long, but Wednesday it was someone else’s turn.
“Every organization works hard to provide a good product for our kids, and the support we get from you all means a lot,” said Lackawanna Little Loop football coach Padgery.
New York State Congressman Pat Burke joined local leaders at the Lackawanna Little Loop Football and Lackawanna Legends youth baseball complex to present a check for $400,000.
“Mayor Iafallo and the City Council brought this to my attention and we were able to secure $400,000,” Burke said.
The new funding will go toward improvements to the Van Wyck Fields youth sports complex. This will be an additional amount on top of the initial funding earmarked for improvements announced Wednesday. It included landscaped fields, a parking lot, and even a new dog park.
“My parents are happy with how the field is looking, and we spent a lot of time and money installing equipment and parking, and of course we spent the money we just received,” said Lackawanna President Jennifer Narebeski. he said. Legendary youth baseball.
Palliei added, “I have kids in this organization and I’ve played with their grandparents and my dad has coached since the beginning, so this is a big family thing.”
This new funding will ensure that the vineyard that bears his father’s name will continue to thrive for generations to come.
