Now that MLB and the National Baseball Hall of Fame have successfully banned Pete Rose from being inducted for life, it’s time for everyone involved to do the right thing. It’s about inducting Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame.

It’s ironic that AJ Hinch was eligible to manage the AL playoffs on the day Pete Rose’s death was announced. How could the best position player in baseball be benched by the guardians of the National Baseball Hall of Fame while this moral barbarian walked through the gates?

I am very sad to hear of the recent passing of baseball’s all-time hit leader, Pete Rose. “Charlie Hustle” was a unique representation of how the game of baseball is played on the field. It was unfortunate that he was banned for life due to gambling problems. Isn’t it ironic that public sports betting is now encouraged through various betting sites and even advertised at ballparks? Since he is no longer physically with us, I suggest that the National Baseball Hall of Fame Committee and MLB take the necessary steps to posthumously induct this great ballplayer into the Hall of Fame. That’s where he belongs.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame honors achievements on the field, not boys in choirs. Just ask Ty Cobb. Pete Rose belongs there.

Pete Rose did some bad things, and I understand he was banned from baseball. That being said, I miss Rose a little every time I see a batter stand still after the fourth pitch, take off his armor and trot to first base.

Shame on the American Baseball Hall of Fame! Pete Rose is a Hall of Fame baseball player. The Hall of Fame is a museum. The Hall of Fame is also independent from Major League Baseball. They could vote him out at any time. And they could write on the shield the good, the bad and the ugly of his career.

As the Dodgers embark on another postseason journey, I’d like to offer Dave Roberts three pieces of advice to help set him up for success.

1. If your starting pitcher is dominating your opponent, don’t take him down.

2. If a pitcher is in a really bad situation, don’t leave him alone.

3. If you don’t need to work the bullpen so hard that it actually smokes, don’t work the bullpen so hard that it actually smokes.

Sure, these are radical ideas in 2024, but if you care about the mental health and well-being of Dodgers fans around the world, consider adopting this gently offered advice.

It’s that time of year again when Dodgers fans pout and moan about “only” winning a division title and how shameful it would be if they didn’t win the World Series. Screams of “Fire the manager!” You will be asked. Please give me a break. As a 40-year Angels fan, I can’t remember the last time the Angels were over .500, much less won a division title. Stop complaining and enjoy the playoffs.

The Dodgers vs. Padres matchup will be a win for MLB and California. Ask yourself, when was the last time you were this excited about a playoff series? This reminds me of when I was a kid and teachers were allowed to bring in TVs at school so we could watch the games.

here we go again?

Once upon a time, UCLA’s athletic director took over an established head football coach and instead hired a young, dynamic former star UCLA as his first head football coach. The coach established the West Coast offense. And he was a very nice person. Unfortunately, aside from one 10-2 season and a legendary win over USC, the coach was not successful. Sound familiar? Are we considering Karl Dorrell 2.0?

real trojan horse

Explain how Reggie Bush can be a “Trojan horse for life” one minute and sue the university the next. As for USC, the school just recently retired his jersey and honored him on the field this season. I think Reggie, and more importantly his lawyer, have different definitions of what “FIGHT ON” means.

I’m a Reggie Bush fan. A football player named Reggie Bush. He was one of the greatest Trojans to wear cardinals and gold. He won the Heisman Trophy on the field, helping his team win back-to-back titles and almost a third of them. But it ends there. he cheated. he lied. He didn’t care about USC. Now, does he want us all to forget about the damage he has done to the program and have the program pay us back? Is he joking? Whatever the rules are now, they were different 20 years ago, and he and his family ignored them. I’m glad his football past is being respected and showcased. But this person is not a man of honor.
