Week 6 of college football only features one matchup between the top 25 teams, but there are still plenty of teams to watch for an upset.
Usually this kind of week works like this. Will a team like No. 4 Tennessee be intimidated by Arkansas? What about Cal’s No. 8 Miami in the ACC After Dark Special? Can No. 12 Ole Miss bounce back with a win against South Carolina? We’ll find out soon.
Here are the games to watch on Saturday: All times are Eastern Time and all odds are from BetMGM.
Noon | TV: ABC | Line: Texas A&M -2.5 | Total: 48.5
The day begins with the only ranked match. Marcel Reed appears likely to be A&M’s starting QB as Connor Weigman continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Missouri State is trying to get its deep passing attack back on track. QB Brady Cook excelled at throwing the ball down the field a season ago, but so far in 2024 he has averaged just 7.1 yards per pass.
3:30pm | TV: CBS | Line: Ohio State -19.5 | Total: 45.5
It’s hard to see how Iowa’s offense can sustain itself. But Iowa’s defense is the best unit Ohio State has ever seen, and I’m excited to see how the Buckeyes do against the stingy Hawkeyes.
3:30 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: Ole Miss -9.5 | Total: 53.5
Ole Miss is looking to bounce back from last week’s 20-17 upset loss to Kentucky. South Carolina’s defense is as good as the Wildcats’. Just ask Kentucky. In Week 2, the Gamecocks dominated Kentucky, 31-6. But can South Carolina’s offense keep up? stay tuned.
7:30pm | TV: ABC | Line: Tennessee -13.5 | Total 58.5
While Tennessee’s offense has produced highlights thus far, the defense has given up just 28 points in four games, showing that the defensive line is one of the best in the SEC. This will be a big challenge for the Arkansas offense, which is explosive when it’s not turning the ball over.
10:30pm | TV: ESPN | Line: Miami -10.5 | Total: 54.5
Miami is learning what life is like in the new ACC as it heads west to visit the Bears, who also have a late-night kickoff in Berkeley, which also hosts “Game Day.” Can Miami and Heisman hopeful QB Cam Ward continue to compete against a motivated California team that is off to a 3-1 start?
