The Sharks have announced their leadership group.

Logan Couture will continue as captain, with Mario Ferraro serving as the alternate captain for each match.

Rookies Tyler Toffoli and Barclay Goodrow will serve as alternate captains for home games, while incumbents Luke Kunin and Mikael Granlund will serve as alternate captains for away games.

“We are extremely fortunate to have such a talented and characterful group of players join our team, led by captain Logan Couture, as our leadership group for the 2024-25 season,” new San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Worsofsky said in the team’s press release. “Each of these players brings unique qualities and characteristics that will not only lead by example, but also serve as an extension of our coaching staff.”

Ferraro appears to be filling in for the injured Couture in some sense, at least when it comes to ceremonial face-offs and the like.
