Los Angeles predicts traffic nightmare for big sports night

The sports world converges on Los Angeles on Friday night, causing a traffic nightmare for drivers.

With six major events taking place in the city within hours, including Game 1 of the World Series, teams are being asked to warn participants of potential hazards on nearby roads.

“Traffic Alert: Due to multiple sporting events taking place near the arena today, heavy traffic is expected before and after the game,” the Lakers, who face the Suns on Friday night, wrote on X. Travel to and from the arena. ”

An hour after tipoff at Crypto.com Arena, USC and Rutgers will kickoff less than five miles away at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

On the other side of town in Inglewood, three more large venues will welcome fans and concertgoers at about the same time.

Just down the road at SoFi Stadium, Roosevelt High School and Garfield High School will face off in the 89th East LA Classic.

And if all that’s happening nearby isn’t enough, David Gilmore will be performing at the same time at the Intuit Dome, one block south of SoFi.

Los Angeles officials strongly encouraged people heading to the notoriously busy city on Friday nights to use public transportation, and even encouraged World Series attendees to walk to Chavez Ravine for the game. encouraged.
