Full Release from CWSA DeKalb, IL – Northern Illinois University Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Sean T. Frazier has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Collegiate Women in Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda.

Now in its 48th year, the CWSA is women’s college athletics’ premier recognition program, recognizing the outstanding achievements of female student-athletes across all divisions of the NCAA. The Honda Sports Award is presented annually to the top female athlete in 12 NCAA-recognized sports, with one overall winner receiving the Honda Cup.

“I am honored to join the CWSA Board of Directors,” said Frazier. “It is a particular honor to be part of this organization that celebrates excellence in women’s sports. We are honored to support a comprehensive awards program that recognizes female student-athletes across all sports and disciplines, including the prestigious Honda Sports Awards. .”

In his 12th year at the helm of NIU Intercollegiate Athletics, Frazier has led the Huskies to historic milestones athletically, academically and socially, leading the nation and community in diversity and inclusion. He solidified his position as a leader and led the fundraising campaign to success. We have transformed the student-athlete experience at NIU. His appointment to the CWSA Board of Directors reflects his continued commitment to improving opportunities and visibility for student-athletes, especially women in sports.

A former president of the NCAA Minority Opportunity Athletic Association, Frazier currently serves as second vice president of the National Association of Collegiate Athletic Directors (NACDA). In May of this year, he was inducted into the Suffolk County (New York State) Sports Hall of Fame in his hometown of Long Island.
