The Green Bay Packers will host the winless Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The Packers, who beat the Indianapolis Colts in their home opener, will be looking to add another win to their tally with quarterback Jordan Love sidelined.
Multiple reports suggest the Packers plan to start former Titans quarterback Malik Willis on Sunday after the Titans traded Willis (a 2022 third-round draft pick) to the Packers in their final cuts.
Can Willis win in his homecoming trip to Nashville? He’ll need another dominant performance from the run game and defense surrounding him.
The Packers Wire staff predicts how the Week 3 showdown against the Titans will play out.
Zach Crews: Titans 23, Packers 17 (0-2)
My initial prediction was that the Packers would win by 6 points with Jordan Love and the Titans would win by 6 points with Malik Willis. I changed my prediction after a report on Saturday night said Willis would start on Sunday. Willis played well last Sunday against the Colts. No doubt about that. Can he repeat the feat against a much better defense and a team that knows him well? The Packers probably won’t be able to run the ball freely and Willis will need to make big-time passes in obvious passing situations. That’s a tough job. With Will Revis as a disruptor, the Packers have a good chance to pull out another win, but the Titans will be a desperate team at home in hot conditions. Even if they go 1-1 without Love, it won’t be the end of the world.
Brennen Rupp: Packers 20, Colts 10 (2-0)
Coming soon!
Gregg Williams: Packers 24, Titans 13 (1-1)
Regardless of who starts at quarterback, the Packers are the better team. The Packers defense played great against the Colts, and I expect them to have the same game plan against the Titans, especially considering how careless Will Revis was with the ball. My only concern for this game is that the Titans run defense is a tougher matchup than the Colts. I don’t think the Packers will run through the Titans, so Malik Willis (or Jordan Love, if he gets cleared) will have to be more productive in the air. I’m not too worried about Willis throwing the ball in the air, as I can trust Matt LaFleur’s creativity to set Willis up for success.
